Multi-tasking and knowing when to outsource. Ok, that’s two things, but they have both been incredibly important. Despite being female and a mother I’m not a natural multi-tasker, which is why the kids often wear odd socks. Running a business single handed means that I need to be on top of everything, often at the same time. Knowing when to outsource has been invaluable. No-one can be good at everything. I know my strengths and leave the stuff I can’t do to those who can.

Client of the Month!
This month meet Sara, the owner of Tree Frog Toys. Specialising in eco-friendly, organic and fair trade toys for children of all ages. Soon they also plan to add hand crafted Australian toys and softies to their range to support local artists and crafts-people.
The kernel of the idea started with the purchase of the first Cool Hunting Green book. There were so many wonderful, inspiring products made by innovative young designers whose work is infused with a strong appreciation for creating products sustainably. And finally, I wanted to disprove the stereotype that surrounds eco-friendly toys and find toys that today’s kids want to play with that are not tie ins to TV shows and movies.
I found Blue Crane Design wonderful to work with. It was a great, collaborative process. I love the designs and the communication was fantastic. All work was completed promptly and emails answered quickly. I can’t recommend Nikki and the team highly enough. I will definitely be using them for all my design work from now on.
