Blue Crane Design is the brainchild of James McDuff and Nikki Matarasso.

James McDuff

A.K.A Jimmy America, James was born in Windsor, England, moved to Houston, Texas at a young age and then again to Moscow, Russia and again to Australia. After which he became quite dizzy and needed a lay down. He is an avid musician and loves classic cars and rockabilly music. He plays the drums, double bass and pretty much every other instrument he can get his hands on.

After graduating with a Degree in Applied Multimedia from Qantm College he began taking on Freelance work as a Graphic Designer until founding Blue Crane Design with girlfriend Nikki.

Nikki Matarasso

Born in Brisbane, Australia Nikki moved to Townsville with her Mother and 10 years later ran back to Brisbane as fast as her legs would carry her.
She loves all things girly and is notorious for gluing sparkly diamantes to everything she owns. She has been wearing the Japanese inspired fashions Lolita and Hime Gyaru for several years.

After graduating from the Australian College of Journalism with a Diploma and several years of art school under her frilly belt, Nikki spent years being involved in various art and comic book projects before settling on the world of Graphic Design. She worked freelance for a while before founding Blue Crane Design with boyfriend James. You can read her blog here.

Cranezilla

Cranezilla is the little blue mascot of Blue Crane Design. He is 3 inches tall, likes long walks on the beach and meeting other origami cranes. One day he hopes to travel to his birthplace in Japan to visit family. He would also like to find a nice crane to settle down with in an origami tree somewhere.

Cranezilla loves to answer questions so if you have any questions about the inner workings of Blue Crane Design just drop him an email and he’ll try to work out how to type with his pointy jointless wings… or maybe just with his beak like one of those red dippy birds that pick up water. I love those birds, I bet they have easy lives, up and down and up and down… what were we talking about again?
